As a graduate student at York University, you have a variety of outstanding resources available to help you in your pursuit of a degree.


York’s collections have more than 6.5 million items, 150,000 E-books and 20,000 online journals. Our world-class libraries provide rich collections, value-added services, excellent librarians and knowledgeable and helpful staff.

Scott Library

This is the largest of York’s many libraries. Scott Library contains thousands of books, journals, periodicals, and other documents, including a very large collection pertaining to Film & Video and the other Fine Arts.

Research Centres and Research Institutes

York University Graduate Students' Association (YUGSA)

The GSA is the representative student organization for the graduate population at York. The GSA has made low-cost extended health coverage available to all graduate students, as well as a number of grants and funds to which graduate students may apply. The GSA represents graduate students at Senate and numerous other Faculty of Graduate Studies committees. The GSA produces a handbook annually which will be available early in the fall term.
